One week later you finally get the trip

So it has been one week since my exhausted blog from Boston.  I am not quite sure where the week went but I am here.  I arrived back in North Carolina after an amazing trip with my cousin Jon, on Monday.  Since that I have been catching up with my husband and son.

Boston was beautiful.  We had wonderful weather for the trip and Jon made sure that I saw as much as possible in the two days I had.

Saturday we headed over to Harpoon Brewery, cause you can't have a trip to New England without visiting a New England Brewery.  Now, while I am not the biggest beer fan this was so much fun.  I did try four of the beers at the tasting, ok, not four beers, three beers and their cider.  Cider was my favorite but I really liked their Raspberry UFO.  All I am saying is a pink beer....  yup pink.  That is fun.

Getting ready to head up Bunker Hill

After the brewery we walked the Freedom Trail.  I just am impressed with the fact that Americans have preserved as much history as we have sometimes.  In the middle of a very large and modern city are houses of people who were important over 200 years ago.  We trekked up the Bunker Hill monument, and I am just going to say that I am extremely proud of myself for making it up 294 steps in a stone monolith.  The view was amazing from the top.
We also went over to the USS Constitution, a must at least once if you ever make it to Boston, and make sure you take the guided tour.

Sunday was dedicated to going to SoWa.  I loved it.  An entire market and area dedicated to artists, crafters, and vintage.  Not to mention the food trucks.  I did get into Beads + Fiber, where of course I had to pet fun fiber and ogle over beads.  The people in there were so friendly.  I did break down and get to skeins of yarn (of course).  I got a beautiful Shibui/heichi Silk that only had one skein left of the color brick.  And a really fun wool blend called from Crazyfoot in the color Crazy Woman.  I am so excited about them.  I have no idea what I'm making yet.
I didn't know this one was being taken
That afternoon we went down to Boston Commons and hiked that area of the city.  Again beautiful.

Make way for Ducklings

I will say that if I ever found myself moving to the Boston area I wouldn't be upset.  I had so much fun and there is so much to do.  And free things to do at that.
Next time though I am taking my family with.
